What is Specialist Disability Accommodation “SDA”

  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is specialist housing built for people with a significant impairment as a result of their disability and high support needs. This housing is designed to cater to the needs of the person with a disability.
    Specialist Disability Accommodation properties need to be built and designed in accordance with the set National Standards outlined by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)

 

If I don’t have SDA what other housing options do I have?

  • There are many other housing options for a person with a disability that does not have access or need specialist disability housing “SDA”.           At Link2Access we are happy to point you in the right direction to find an accessible and appropriate forever home.

 

What is Supported Independent Living “SIL”

  • Supported Independent Living “SIL” is a level of direct support offered to people with medium to high direct support needs. SIL funding does not pay for a house. SIL supports people with disability to live within their community in a range of different housing types that best fit their needs and goals.

 

What is Individualised Living Options “ILO”

  • ­ Individualised living options “ILO” is support to live the way that suits you. ILO funding does not pay for a house. There are lots of choices with ILO. You can share your home with housemates or you might live in the home of a host.

 

What housing options can I use my NDIS CORE supports in?

  • You can use your NDIS” CORE” funding, in any home, specialist disability accommodation, a rented home or our own home.
